  • Glazing: Glass, laminate, clear, single glazed, fall protected.
  • Structure: Adequate spacing and size structural aluminum frame.
  • Anchors: Adequate anchor size and count around perimeter.
  • Curbs: Adequate height.
  • Evaluation: Skylight is in adequate shape except for the glazing that was broken during the inspection. Inspector required access to evaluate the barrel vault skylight above the single sloped skylight and was walking on the caps which should have prevented glass from breaking.
  • Flashing: Metal flashing; adequate in condition.
  • Rating: 8 of 10
  • Expected Life Span: 10-25 years.

One (1) 28’ x 28’ (nominal) glass, octagon, structural, original skylight.

inspection certification doubletree 161853
  • Glazing: Glass, laminate, clear, single glazed, fall protected.
  • Structure: Adequate spacing and size structural aluminum frame.
  • Anchors: Adequate anchor size and count around perimeter.
  • Curbs: Adequate height.
  • Flashing: Adequate height.
  • Evaluation: This skylight should never need replaced; however, some work may need to be done on the flashing to roof connection. The flashing/tile connection may require maintenance or re-work if leaks are noticed around the base. The skylight has been wet sealed and is in basically good condition although it could use a good cleaning of the glass.
  • Rating: 8 of 10
  • Expected Life Span: 10-25 years.
