What is probably most important to consider as you compare one to the other is not necessarily the price. Yes, that is important but not the deciding factor. Why?—We spend a lot of our time repairing the low-bid skylight. You’ve heard the adage – Pay me now or pay me later. And actually you’ll never pay the original manufacturer to repair their own product because they should have gotten it right the first time.
More important is the quality of the design.
You should speak with people that deal with more than one manufacturer as then they are not “required” to push you in one direction only. They typically understand skylight designs and can speak with you intelligently about the quality of the product.
Time Frame
Finally don’t forget to ask about the time it takes to receive the product. It doesn’t do you much good if you can’t get the product when you need it.
